Payment FAQs

What does each term fee cover?

Short Stuff, Beginner, Intermediate, Industry

Each term fee covers ten lessons.

Junior Pro, Junior Industry, Advanced, Industry

Most term fees cover ten lessons, with one term fee each year covering the production of a professional-quality filmed outcome. This filmed outcome is scheduled based on the requirements of the production.

What if there aren’t ten lessons in a term?

We regularly ‘bank’ payments for future terms. This is especially common in our Advanced levels, but can also happen if a school term has an irregular number of weeks or a class is cancelled.

When is Payment Due?

Our focus needs to be ensuring our classes are the best they can be. Following up on payments takes a significant amount of time and energy, and so we want to make sure that everyone’s fees are sorted early, so we can shift our attention to other things. For this reason, payment is due before the second class of each term, and failure to pay by this date will result in being unenrolled from the class.

Can I Pay in Installments?

You can pay in installments only by setting up an automated payment plan with a credit/debit card. You must set up a payment plan if you want to pay in installments – please do not make partial payments without first setting up a payment plan. If you have not paid in full or set up a payment plan by the due date, you will be unenrolled from the class and we will contact you about refunding any amount paid.

I paid by bank transfer, but the invoice is still unpaid. Did it go through?

It usually takes up to two days for bank transfers to appear in your Class Manager account. If it has been more than two days and you haven’t seen a payment receipt, please contact us and we will look into it for you.

I’m going away for a holiday and will be missing multiple lessons – can I get a discount?

No – our fees cover your spot in the class for the term. Whether you attend each week or not, your spot is still reserved in the class, and we can not open it to other potential students. Extended absences can also create significant problems for other students in the class, with other students unable to rehearse with their scene partner, or our instructors needing to spend time revisiting content from previous weeks. For our more advanced levels, if we believe a student’s absence is affecting other student’s experience in the class, we may require catch-up sessions or rehearsals outside of the usual class time to make up for excessive missed lessons.

What if class is cancelled?

If class is cancelled, one of the following will occur:

  • Class will be rescheduled to another week in the school term.
  • Some classes will be extended. E.g. a cancelled 2 hour class may be made up for by having four 2 ½ hour classes.
  • A credit will be applied to your Class Manager account for 1/10th of the term fee. This will be used for future term fees, or can be refunded.

I have unused credit in my account. Can I get a refund?

Yes, contact us for a refund to your bank account.
