SCREEN ACTING

We have 7 levels of curriculum, specifically designed to suit various ages, experience and skill levels.

SCREEN ACTING

3 LEVELS FOR NEW ACTORS

Screen acting is more than just a drama class for kids ….

Filmbites SHORT STUFF, BEGINNER AND INTERMEDIATE LEVEL PREPARATION acting courses focus on introducing and developing fundamental acting techniques in a fun and nurturing environment.

Along with the basics of drama, they’ll be learning essential ‘soft skills’ and screen acting techniques for a future in acting such as;

  • listening
  • creativity
  • team work and
  • focus.

Students progress through a new curriculum each term and put their skills to practise by filming a short film in Term 4.

These courses can be joined up to week 3 in each term excluding Term 4, and subject to availability.

Your tuition fee includes a copy of the end of year film and a complimentary student ticket to the Premiere Night screening at Event Cinema Morley, held in March the following year.

SHORT STUFF

Classes for Ages 7 & 8yrs

This acting course for younger students uses play-based activities and simple actor exercises. The aim is to build confidence and encourage “naturalistic acting.” Students are also taught fundamentals with screen acting tips to develop confidence in voice, movement and understanding “story.”

BEGINNER

Acting Class for Ages 9 to 12 and 13yrs +

Start with foundational acting skills including confidence and communication, processes to build character, line delivery plus acting terminology and basic technical skills.

INTERMEDIATE PREPARATION

Acting for Ages 11+

Focuses on basic script and improvisation skills, plus developing confidence in responding to an actor’s “change” and making choices.

PROFESSIONAL SCREEN ACTING

4 CAREER-FOCUSED LEVELS

Not for drama queens, these levels are for students serious about their acting, either professionally or for creative fulfilment.

From INTERMEDIATE, ADVANCED, INTENSIVE and our JUNIOR PROFESSIONALS levels, classes become more industry focused for those interested in an acting career. Students for these classes are asked to do a placement workshop – details for this are on the specific course pages.

To maximise learning for themselves and the rest of the class, students must join by Week 3 or Term 1.

Your tuition fee includes a copy of the end of year film and a complimentary student ticket to the Premiere Night screening at Event Cinema Morley, held in March the following year.
